What is this event?

The Pottstown Bike Race is a fast & exciting event which includes amateur and professional cyclists of all ages. The race includes 7 categories of racing. Each race ranges from 15-35 miles.

How do I register my child?

A parent or guardian may accompany a child to registration between 12 -3 PM on the day of the race. Registration is located at High & Charlotte Sts. There is NO fee to register & the first 50 children will receive a FREE bike helmet.

How long is the children's race?

Children will begin at High & Hanover Streets & race in their respective age groups for 2 blocks. ALL children will receive a prize at the finish.

What happens if it rains?

The Pottstown Bike Race will be conducted rain or shine!

How can I volunteer?

You can be part of this great event by volunteering to be a race marshal. This involves helping control traffic on the race course. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer. All volunteers will be assigned a great location to watch the race & will receive a FREE bike helmet as well as other fun gifts! More information can be obtained by emailing

Is there a fee to watch/attend the race?

There is NO fee to watch or attend the race. We encourage you to come out to watch the race. If you are on the course, have a picnic or a block party to enjoy the event & cheer the racers on. A festive atmosphere with a Beer Garden, Gatsby's Grill & numerous vendors will be on High Street between Hanover & Charlotte.

I am a resident, how does this event affect me?

The Pottstown Bike Race is an exciting sporting event that will bring a festive atmosphere to the town of Pottstown. In order to make this event possible, we appreciate the cooperation of all residents.

  • By 8 AM Sunday July 22nd, ALL cars MUST be removed from the course
  • At 9 AM, the race course roads will be closed
  • At 11 AM, racers will begin warming up on the course
  • At 12 noon, racing will begin
  • By 9 PM, all roads will be re-opened
If you live on the interior of the course, race marshals will be at all intersections to help you SAFELY get to your home. PLEASE be patient with the marshals as they are working to ensure everyone's safety.

Can I enter the race if I have never raced before?

All racers must have a racing license from the USA Cycling Federation. If you are a new racer, you could register in the Men's Category 5 or Women's Category 5 race. To obtain a 1-day license for the event, you can register at "Bike Reg" - ( or on the day of the event (High & Charlotte Sts). Registration is $25 for the Men's category 5 & $25 for the Women's category 5 event. This does not include the 1-day license fee.

What else is going on besides bike racing?

Besides the SLY FOX BEER GARDEN & GATSBY'S GRILL, the 2018 event will include a number of vendors and BIKE RACE BINGO!! Stop by the registration area at pick up a BINGO card. Visit our vendors, get your card stamped, and you could be eligible to win some great prizes.
