What is this event?
The Pottstown Bike Race is a fast & exciting event which includes multiple categories of amateur & professional cyclists of all ages. Racing distances vary by category.
How do I register my child?
A parent or guardian may register a child online at BikeReg or on the day of the event at the start/finish line (High St between Rosedale & Roland Sts). Although there is NO registration fee, a release form must be signed. Helmets are required but there are some available FREE of charge for any child who does not have one.
How long is the children's race?
Children will race in their respective age groups for approximately 2 blocks. ALL children will receive a prize bag at the finish.
What happens if it rains?
The Pottstown Bike Race will be conducted rain or shine!
How can I volunteer?
You can be part of this great event by volunteering to be a race marshal. This involves helping control traffic on the race course. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer. All volunteers will be assigned a great location to watch the race & will receive a FREE gift bag with a variety of "fun stuff!" Is there a fee to watch/attend the race?
There is NO fee to watch or attend the race. We encourage you to come out to watch the race. If you are on the course, have a picnic or a block party to enjoy the event & cheer the racers on. A festive atmosphere with a Beer Garden & numerous vendors will be on High Street between Rosedale & Roland Streets.
I am a resident, how does this event affect me?
The Pottstown Bike Race is an exciting sporting event that will bring a festive atmosphere to the town of Pottstown. In order to make this event possible, we appreciate the cooperation of all residents.
- All cars must be removed from the course by 8 AM of race day
- The course will be closed by 9 AM
- Racers will begin warming up between 9 & 9:30 AM
- Racing begins at 10:30 AM
- Roads will re-open by 8 PM
If you live on the interior of the course, race marshals will be at all intersections to help you SAFELY get to and from your home. PLEASE be patient with the marshals as they are working to ensure everyone's safety.
Where can I park while the race is going on?
The following FREE lots will be available for you to park your vehicle during the race:
- Street parking on High west of Roland
- Street parking on Ramble between Cedar & Park Blvd
- Street parking on North Roland – north of Chestnut
- PLEASE do not park in the lots of the surrounding businesses
Can I enter the race if I have never raced before?
All racers must have a racing license from the USA Cycling Federation. If you are a new racer, you could register in the Men's Category 5 or Women's Category 5 race. To obtain a 1-day license for the event, you can register at Bike Reg- (https://www.bikereg.com/pottstown-bike-race).
